Complete Stern Gear Solution

The stern gear kit is a comprehensive and well-thought-out solution that incorporates all the necessary components for a robust and reliable stern gear system suitable for a narrowboat. It brings together high-quality parts that are designed to work seamlessly together, simplifying the build process for a boat owner. This kit includes everything from the propeller shaft to the bearings and seals, ensuring compatibility and saving time in sourcing individual parts.

High-Quality Components

The kit features a VETUS propeller shaft made from Duplex 1-4462 Stainless steel, a material known for its excellent corrosion resistance. The shaft is 35mm in diameter and 1000mm in length, with a standard 1:10 tapered end to perfectly fit a propeller. The 30 self-aligning inner bearing is a key component, featuring a triple lip seal for added security against water ingress and designed to absorb shocks and vibrations.

Everything Needed for Installation

In addition to the main components, the kit supplies all the smaller but essential items. This includes the matching key, tab washer, and propeller nut with an integrated zinc anode for the shaft. The VETUS water-lubricated cutlass bearing with a brass outer bushing and polyurethane-rubber lining ensures a smooth and quiet operation. The kit also comes with R & D Marine Steel Split Half Coupling that is painted by Törkmar to prevent corrosion, along with a rubber hose, skin fitting, ball valve, and stainless steel jubilee clips for releasing air and creating a sealed system.
