This is a sophisticated inverter and charger. It efficiently converts 240V AC shore or generator power into 48V DC for battery charging. When a mains supply is unavailable, it inverts the stored 48V DC back to 240V AC with a powerful 8kW output for all on-board appliances.

The Ultimate All-in-One Power Solution

The Victron Quattro is a high-performance combined inverter and charger. Like the MultiPlus, it features a true sine wave inverter and adaptive charging. However, it offers even greater functionality for narrowboats, providing a highly reliable and efficient power system.

Why the Quattro is Ideal for Narrowboats:

  • Dual AC Inputs: It accepts two separate power sources, such as shore power and an on-board generator.
  • Automatic Switching: The unit automatically selects the active source to ensure a seamless power supply.
  • No-Break Output: Your devices stay powered during changeovers thanks to its high-speed internal switch.
  • Battery Protection: A secondary output runs heavy loads, like water heaters, only when AC power is available.
  • PowerAssist Technology: It prevents shore or generator overloads by boosting the supply with battery power when needed.
  • High Surge Capacity: The 8000VA model easily handles demanding appliances, from induction hobs to power tools.
  • Global Monitoring: You can manage the system from anywhere via a GX device and the free VRM app.

Advanced Power Management

Because the Quattro features two independent AC inputs, it is the perfect choice for complex narrowboat systems. Consequently, you can switch between a generator and shore power without your clocks resetting or your computer shutting down. Furthermore, the PowerAssist feature ensures that even a limited shore supply can handle high peak demands.

Reliability for Live-Aboards

Specifically, the 8000VA model is well-suited for the live-aboard market. It provides a solid foundation for high-power requirements, ensuring reliable operation in all conditions. Ultimately, when integrated into a Törkmar system, the Quattro offers unmatched control and peace of mind.
