About this item
Ideal for marine systems using lithium batteries. It provides a dedicated, heavy-duty busbar that fuses with fast-acting Class-T fuses, protecting the entire system before power is distributed. This design enhances safety and simplifies installation
Introduction to the Lynx Class-T Power In
The Lynx Class-T Power In is designed to connect and fuse up to lithium batteries. It is a modular busbar with connections for Class-T fuses. It contains a positive busbar, a negative busbar, and a ground connection. This product is rated for a continuous current of 1000A
Fusing with Class-T Fuses
The Lynx Class-T Power In is specifically designed for Class-T fuses, which must be purchased separately. The orientation of the fuses is important, and you should ensure the connection flanges lie flat on the busbar. Class-T fuses are essential for lithium battery systems due to their extremely fast response time and high interrupt rating (up to 20,000A). This rapid action is crucial for interrupting the very high short-circuit currents that lithium batteries can produce, which are beyond the interrupt ratings of standard fuses. This protects the system from damage and reduces fire risk.
Part of a Modular System
The Lynx Class-T Power In is designed to integrate seamlessly with other M10 Lynx products. It can be combined with a Lynx Smart BMS and a Lynx Distributor to create a complete DC distribution system with fused battery and load connections. When used with a Lynx Smart BMS, batteries should be connected to the left side and loads to the right to ensure the battery’s state of charge is correctly calculated.
Safety and Installation
For safety, all positive battery poles must be disconnected before working on the busbars.Â
