Double-Pole MCBs for Solar Safety
The Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) is an essential safety component, automatically switching off a circuit when it senses dangerous conditions like an overload or a short circuit. In solar systems, you install these double-pole DC breakers to provide crucial protection along the current path. They sit between the solar panels and the MPPT controller, and also between the controller and the main bus bar.
Function and Practicality
Unlike a fuse that a user must replace, the MCB is a resettable device; a user simply resets the lever after fixing the fault. They act as a vital safety feature and an easy way to isolate the solar array—for example, if a user needs to work on the wiring, they turn off the MCB. The double-pole design ensures both the positive and negative lines are broken.
High Voltage DC MCB’s and Törkmar Installation
The DC MCBs must wire with the correct polarity to ensure safe function. Following the established Törkmar electrical cupboard background will ensure a correct, trouble-free installation. These devices offer reliable, resettable protection for the high voltage DC currents generated by the panels.
